We've named our program “Always Confirming” as we firmly believe that faith-formation is a life-long process and doesn’t end when we receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We welcome  teens in grades 9-12 to join us for our two-year preparation process to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please note: You must be baptized and have received First Communion (and provide a certificate for both) to participate.

Teens who are already confirmed are especially welcome to participate as peer leaders to help facilitate small-group discussions and activities.

decision point book 221x300This year we are using "Decision Point," a dynamic and interactive program for teens. Each week we dive into a topic with a video, short presentation, and small group discussion. Parents and sponsors can follow along online or with the app. The program may be viewed at www.dynamiccatholic.com/confirmation

Please save the date of September 25, 2016 for the first meeting for both parents and teens!

TUITION & FEES 2016-17
Level I & II:  $165
Level II Retreat:  $185 (approx.)
Financial assistance is available for registered parishioners.
Registration for new candidates is currently closed.

Please note: All volunteers who work with children and teens in any capacity at St. Monica are required by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to complete the VIRTUS Training session, “Protecting God’s Children,” and be fingerprinted with a background check. They cannot enter a classroom as a primary leader or catechist until this process is completed.  This includes all volunteers and catechists in our Religious Education Program and our Confirmation program for teens. Level I Schedule

Level I teens will meet two Sundays per month. Before each meeting we will gather together for the Sunday 1:15 pm Youth Mass. Teens are expected to arrive at 1 pm in the church, and check in with a leader for attendance. The 1:15 Youth Mass is part of the session, it is not considered optional. Following Mass, we will gather for our program until 4:00 pm. Each teen is encouraged to attend Mass every week with your peers, even on the Sundays that we do not gather.

Mass participation as altar server, hospitality minister, altar dressing, or gift bearer is a part of our program. It is expected of all of our teens, and will be scheduled throughout the year, even on weekends when we do not meet.

Level II Retreat - REGISTER NOW
Attending the retreat is an Archdiocesan requirement in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our retreat is scheduled in March and is for Level II teens only. If you are planning to be confirmed in May 2017 and have a conflict with the dates of our retreat, it is important that you notify the coordinators immediately for alternate arrangements.

Need Financial Assistance?

Our program budget is based on an amount of $165 per teen. We understand that some families are unable to pay this amount all at once, and some are only able to afford a portion of this fee. We ask that you consider what you are able to commit to paying between now and May 2017 so that we can plan our budget. Please note:  Only registered parishioners are eligible for financial assistance.

To apply for a payment plan and/or financial assistance,  please fill out the form below.  Once we receive your form, we will contact you to set up a meeting with Jenna or Fr. Matt Murphy  to discuss your request as well as ways your time and talent may contribute to our program.
