We hope you can join us for Simbang Gabi 2017. Our Simbang Gabi Celebration will take place Saturday, Dec. 16, 5:30 p.m. for one night.
This celebration is our third year hosting Simbang Gabi at St. Monica. Simbang Gabi (Tagalog for "Night Mass") is a nine-day series of Masses held during Advent, in preparation for the coming Jesus Christ. This tradition, which originated in The Philippines, is celebrated by Filipinos all over the world.
We are pleased to welcome The Most Rev. Gerald E. Wilkerson, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Los Angeles, as our Principal Celebrant.
The Mass will be celebrated in English, with Filipino music, featuring the some of the finest Filipino musicians in our diocese. We encourage you to wear Filipino attire to Mass.
Mass is open to all. A ticket or reservation is not necessary for Mass.
A dinner reception will follow Mass in the Grand Pavilion. A ticket is required for entry.
Tickets will be available after weekend Masses in the Duval Center after the 530 p.m. Vigil Mass, Dec. 2.
A freewill offering is also accepted at the time tickets are issued and at the reception.
