JustFaith is a small group process that invites participants to explore the Gospel call to compassion and justice. JustFaith is an intensive and successful model of justice education and spiritual formation that consists of weekly meetings, and employs books, videos, speakers, discussion, prayer, retreats, and hands-on experiences. The intent is to provide a tapestry of learning opportunities that emphasize and enliven the remarkable justice tradition of the Catholic Church. Participants have the privilege of becoming community with others and sharing a journey of faith and compassion that is both life-giving and challenging.
Faith and Poverty: A Justice Response awakens participants to systemic barriers that keep people from rising out of poverty, barriers which are often invisible to those of us who don’t have to face them. This program also equips participants to work for change and healing within their communities.
The goals of the program are:
Jun. 23 Session One: Talking About Hard Things
Jun. 30 Session Two: Systemic Racism 101
Jul. 7 Session Three: Mass Incarceration
Jul. 14 Session Four: Immigration and Poverty
Jul. 21 Session Five: The Wealth Gap
Jul. 28 Session Six: Poverty and the Environment
Aug. 4 Session Seven: Preferential Option for the Poor
