The"Always Beginning" Senior Adult Ministry provides an opportunity for older adults (both men and women) to meet their spiritual and social needs in a friendly environment with their peers from October through June of each year through the following activities.

Join us Sunday, August 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Pavilion for the Fair and from 9 - 1:30 in Caruso A & B for the Healthly Living Speaker Series.

You can talk with representatives from over 20 community organizations about opportunities that they have to keep all of us—especially our older adults—as independent and active as possible, and to help out when we need it.

Carol Hahn MSN, RN, RYT, CPT
Carol is Wellness and Fitness Nurse who focuses on helping people over fifty increase their quality of life. As a Registered Nurse, Certified Personal Trainer, and Registered Yoga Teacher, she's the perfect person to share how we all can make fitness a fun habit that keeps us vibrant and healthy!

Pouya Shafipour, MD, Providence St. John's
Dr. Shafipour is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Obesity medicine. He is passionate about using nutrition and lifestyle transformation in treating chronic diseases. He has personally followed every diet that he prescribes and coaches patients through every step of the way! Dr. Shafipour will share how we can make good nutritional choices that will transform our health and our lives.

Monica Moore, MSG, Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research
Monica is a Geriatric Specialist with many years of experience of working with older adults in our community, and loves doing so! She currently serves as a Community Health Program Manager for the Easton Center, and educates groups and individuals about choices and activities that can keep our brains as sharp & healthy as possible. Don't miss this important and informative session!
1:00 p.m.: "Keeping Your Spirit Healthy While Your Body Heals"
Christine Gerety, PhD, St. Monica Associate Director of Outreach & Pastoral Care
Christine works with twenty ministries at St. Monica, including Always Beginning (adults 65 & over) and our Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick. She especially enjoys her ministry with older adults and has seen that each of us will likely have a time in our lives when we need to stay at home because of challenges posed by illness, injury, or transportation. Come learn about the resources and practices that can keep you and your loved ones connected with God at home and the community at St. Monica.
Interested in Volunteering? We always need volunteers to help our members park safely when arriving and exiting and prepare and serve the meal. They also assist with clean-up.
