Our day began in service through the Race 4 Veronika’s Place—a long-running initiative of St. Monica Catholic Community that supports individuals and families living with HIV and AIDS in Dandora. As a community, we helped distribute food and essentials to those served by Veronika’s Place. What might seem like simple bags of rice carried with them dignity, care, and the reminder that love shows up in practical ways.
Later, we spent time in the kindergarten classrooms at St. James, getting a glimpse into the world of the youngest students. Their energy, focus, and bold curiosity filled the rooms. It was a privilege to sit beside them—reading, listening, learning—and to witness education happening at its most formative level.
Another highlight of the day was undoubtedly the St. James talent show—a full production featuring traditional African dances, poems, joyful songs, and even a fashion show. The creativity was astounding, the pride undeniable, and the cultural expression absolutely electric. Students, faculty, and visitors alike filled the space with laughter, applause, and awe.
Today reminded us that the Body of Christ is made up of many parts—and every one of them has something beautiful to share. From food bags to drumbeats, from ABCs to poetry, this was a day of many gifts, all wrapped in joy.
