The summer of 2024 was a busy one for St. Monica Africa Ministry! The ministry successfully sponsored its first trip back to Dandora, Kenya , since before the pandemic, with 21 travelers from St. Monica witnessing firsthand their love of our Lord, the beauty of Kenya, and checking in on how our support over the years benefits the people of Holy Cross Church. Once again, this year’s Ministry Cooperative Appeal supported the Holy Cross Mission Center in their work to raise funds to support the vulnerable in Dandora. A total of $114,000 was raised which will support the building of two water wells for the local community and the purchase of schoolbooks for the children of St. James. Thank you, St. Monica, for your generosity!
The fall will be no less eventful for St. Monica Africa Ministry. Our Race for Veronica’s Place Team in partnership with the LA Marathon begins its quest to raise funds to support a food distribution program that supports 500 HIV/AIDS patients in the Dandora community. Meet with the R4VP Team and see how you can help at Coffee & Doughnuts on October 20 after all the morning liturgies at the Grand Pavilion Patio.
