Cornerstone is a 26-hour retreat for adults that provides the opportunity to reflect, renew and strengthen your faith while meeting other members of our Christian community. Each year St. Monica offers two separate retreats, one for men and one for women, usually held in the early part of the year, before or during Lent. The retreats are hosted by parishioners who have experienced the gift of past Cornerstone retreats.
All meals (including dinner on Friday evening), accommodations, and overnight supplies are provided on the St. Monica campus. A letter confirming your registration and providing other details will be sent to you prior to the retreat.
There will be a number of opportunities on the weekend to examine your relationship with God, your family and others in your life. Most of all, it is an opportunity to step out of your daily routine to think and discuss about those things that matter to you most, in an atmosphere that is confidential and lends itself to reflection and renewal.
The past 18 months have been a test for all of us challenge ourselves as men in our faith! That's why I'm stoked to co-lead a unique and first-time Cornerstone event. It’s been a while since we’ve all been together for fellowship and to celebrate our faith. This will be a Cornerstone Retreat Refresh – an opportunity to reignite your faith and reconnect with your fellow Cornerstone brothers.
We'd love for you to experience the entire day-long retreat with food, guest speakers, witnesses and prayer, however, we understand that you might have other commitments and responsibilities. That being said, we encourage you to join us for however long you're able! You don't want to miss this - this is a retreat for YOU: brothers who have gone through the Cornerstone overnight retreat and have been on this journey together over these months and years. In respecting the Cornerstone seal, this event is not for new brothers. We will be having our annual Cornerstone retreat for new brothers in February 2022.
See you next week!
The Retreat is a forum for men – in complete confidentiality – to open up and share with other like-minded men their life’s issues and challenges, and how their faith has helped them face those issues and challenges. For many men, it’s one of the rare opportunities to be open, and to learn from the experiences of other men in the spirit of sharing. Many find it to be a gateway to bonding, sharing and belonging to what may become a long-term community of brothers in faith.
