Looking for a way to give with love this Advent? Be a part of Share the Season with the St. Joseph Center!
For each of the past thirty years, St. Monica has partnered with the St. Joseph Center in Venice to provide food and gifts to hundreds of families (Adopt-a-Family) and individuals (Stockings for Singles) in need during the holidays. One family that has benefitted from Share the Season is Brittany and her son, Alex:
Brittany J is a single mom to 8-year-old Alex. All year, Alex wished for a Star Wars Lego set but his mother could not afford it. Using her Adopt-a-Family gift cards, Brittany was able to buy Alex the gift he had wished for. On Christmas Day, he was so happy to rip open the wrapping to see his dream gift. It’s the small things that can make a world of difference!
Would you like to help create a heartwarming moment like this one for a family in need or for someone living alone? You can do exactly that by contributing to Share the Season this year!

We're so excited to share the news that the Angel Toy Drive is back! Every year, of our parishioners share their holiday love and joy by providing toys for students in need at five of our local public schools (Will Rogers, Edison, John Muir, McKinley, and Grant), at Covenant House in Hollywood, and in our local community. And over the past several years the Toy Drive has grown, serving over 600 children.
Last year, even in the midst of the COVID lockdown when we couldn't collect toys, we still made sure that these children received gifts. In 2020, our friends at Covenant House received more toys than they needed from a generous donor, and we provided each of our local schools with $500 in holiday gift cards that they shared with those families who were most in need.
This year, we're open & ready to receive your contributions to the Angel Toy Drive. Here's how you can be a part of the this wonderful giving tradition:
The pandemic hit the Dandora community especially hard. With your help, we cna provide funding to the Calvary Warriors Basketball Team, the Young Adult community at Holy Cross, provide much needed scholarships to student at St. James School, and provide sports and music programs which serve the whole community.
