As our journey winds down, today was about stepping back, taking stock, and beginning to breathe it all in.
We started the day with a visit to the Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family in Nairobi—a towering symbol of faith in the heart of Kenya’s capital. Joined by Monsignor, we spent time in quiet reflection, praying in gratitude for the people we met, the stories we heard, and the relationships that have taken root and grown. After so many days of action and activity, this sacred space offered a pause to let it all settle.
In the afternoon, we made our way to the beloved Giraffe Centre, where we met Kenya’s iconic Rothschild giraffes up close. Feeding these gentle giants and learning about conservation efforts gave us a joyful, playful contrast to the depth of our earlier moments. There was laughter, wonder, and a sense that God’s creation truly speaks in many languages—some of them spotted and 19 feet tall.
As we begin to transition from mission to memory, one thing is clear: this was more than a trip—it was a transformation. We carry Dandora home not in our luggage, but in our hearts.
