Art of Living SKY Meditation Retreat

Apr. 30 - May 2  via Zoom | See Course Schedule below

The SKY Meditation Retreat, offered by the Art of Living Ministry at Saint Monica’s, teaches breathing and meditation techniques which help parishioners prepare for prayer, reduce stress, and experience deep levels of interior silence in their everyday lives. The 9-hour workshop features practical wisdom on how to develop a contemplative approach to life by centering one’s mind and emotions, and by being of service to the community.

The retreat will be conducted by Saint Monica parishioners John Osborne and Catharine Dada. John has been teaching meditation and breathwork to faith-based groups for the last 45 years and was formerly a Trappist monk at Saint Joseph’s Abbey in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Hamilton College and Yale Divinity School.

Catharine teaches classical acting at Loyola Marymount University, following a career with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She holds a PhD in Religious Studies and an MA (Hons) in the Study of Mysticism & Religious Experience, both from the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.

What former participants say:
  • "The Art of Living Ministry brought me to a place in prayer that I never knew existed. A silent, focused, connected space where I encountered Christ without the filter of my ego and the endless distractions the modern day imposes on all of us." - C.M., St. Monica Parishioner
  • "For me, the Art of Living courses were really about: connection - they fostered a deeper personal connection with the Holy Spirit and all our brothers and sisters; and clarity - they enabled a clearer and more God centered view of the world around me." T.Z., St. Monica Parishioner
  • "The meditation segment keeps me silent which allows me to be intimate with Our Lord. My spirituality deepens and it brings me closer to Jesus. I try to practice both breathing and meditating every morning to start my day." - E.V., St. Monica Parishioner
