Recycling right
With their robust recycling initiative, Santa Monica has made it second-nature for residents to recycle. But we citizens also have a responsibility to recycle properly; otherwise we could harm the program more than help. For instance, recycling anything with food waste (like a pizza box) can contaminate a whole batch of recycled material, even if the rest is decontaminated! There are more rules on recycling, varying by city. To learn more, check out Santa Monica’s rules or search for your own city’s online.
