Appropriate behavior online is critical to maintaining boundaries and being a trusted adult to the young people in your care. Do not use your personal social media account to “friend” or “follow” the children you work with. Do not email from a personal email address. If you do interact with young people online, do not comment on their social media accounts or use them to obtain more information or start conversations. If your organization does not have rules about social media use for employees, work with management to put some in place.
