Homily by Bishop Gordon Bennett
It's no secret that we live in a culture of competing and sometimes contradictory narratives. In this Holy Year of Mercy, Pope Francis has inserted a narrative about the nature and the essence of God, and about our identity as human beings in relationship to God. Oscar Wilde wrote: "Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future". May the saint and the sinner in us give witness to our call: to accept the mercy of God in our own lives and to be the missionaries of mercy to everyone in this world, without exception.
