If you are a safe adult in a child’s life, you have the ability to provide a safe place for that child to disclose abuse, discomfort, or any other concerns. This gives safe adults the ability to work together to potentially stop abuse and change the course of a child’s life. When children know that adults are willing to listen to them and advocate for them, they are more willing to share their problems and concerns. To learn more about how to use your “safe adult superpower,” read the VIRTUS® article “Superpowers: Safe Adults Have Them” at lacatholics.org/did-you-know/.
