Some concerning behaviors that go beyond natural curiosity, could be signs of sexual abuse. These behaviors include asking a peer or adult to engage in a specific act, inserting objects into private areas, explicit imitation of intercourse, and behaviors that are persistent and resistant to distraction. Any of these signs could indicate that a child is being abused or exposed to sexually inappropriate behavior. For more information, read the VIRTUS® article “Differentiating age-appropriate curiosity from harmful sexual behavior” at https://lacatholics.org/did-you-know/.
