We continue to pray for our nation, for peace and unity during these uncertain times, and beyond, as we work as a nation to provide for our country and in stewards for creation. As faithful citizens, it is important to pray and reflect on the importance of voting and representing ourselves as faithful citizens. 

We will host a special prayer service which will be offered daily Outdoors in unity and peace for our country. In addition to the novena, the prayer service will include Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Pre-reservation is required for those attending Outdoors. We ask that you bring your own candle, in addition to wearing a mask and social distancing. 

For those following at home, make sure to have your candle ready! *Only the first night will be available via Livestream.

The Novena for National Peace, Unity and Healing

Our Novena with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament calling for unity, peace and healing for our nation concludes this evening. The Novena brought dozens of St. Monica parishioners together in prayer to intercede in prayer on behalf the world and our country. Lead by Fr. Dave Ayotte, these special moments offered time for reflection in the presence of the Eucharist – the great sacrament of healing and peace. The Scriptures chosen centered on living the law of the Lord which is love.

As we heard a few weeks ago at Sunday Mass, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment?” Jesus replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with your all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and you shall love your neighbor as yourself. “ In this is summed up all the law and the prophets as well.

Our leadership team called for this gathering to acknowledge that, although there are differences within that divide, the Eucharist brings us together around the table of the Lord and makes us one. It is in prayer, around the Lord’s table, that we are healed and made one.
