Waiting for the pandemic to crest, waiting for a vaccine, for reopening and for countermeasures. Waiting at home, waiting to see loved ones, family and friends. But, hope springs eternal.
As 2020 draws to a close, we hope to enter into another form of waiting: Waiting for Jesus. As in past years, we invite our parishioners to accompany each other in waiting prayerfully, reading booklets with scripture, reflections, meditations, and prayers during the days of Advent. Our weekly small groups exist to share with each other, what we pray, reflect, and hope. We want to bring the text alive in conversation with our daily lives and our spiritual journey toward Jesus Christ.
Michelle Franci-Donnay invites us into a time of reflection and contemplation on the stable in Bethlehem: “It is a way station, a momentary gathering of those who will be dispatched to all corners of the earth.” A place to “listen to God’s irrepressible, radiant Word, so that its fire might rekindle a flame in your heart.”
This year, we have several schedule options via zoom, to aid in making prayerful introspection a priority in your life this Advent and beyond.
