St. Monica Gay and Lesbian Outreach Ministry (GLO) is a fellowship where gay and lesbian people of faith are welcomed to explore their spirituality and share their experience, strength, and hope with one another. In 2017, GLO will celebrate their 25-year anniversary since the ministry was first started at St. Monica.
We mostly communicate by email and through Facebook. If you haven't done so already, subscribe to our mailing list and join our group on Facebook!
Ash Wednesday coincides with Valentine’s Day this year, so our February Meet & Greet is perfectly timed to celebrate Mardi Gras—St. Monica style! Join GLO for our February Meet & Greet, Sunday, Feb. 11, after the 5:30 p.m. Mass. Don’t miss out on the fun as we gather together, celebrate, and connect with other gay and lesbian people of faith in our St. Monica community. Come to the Auditorium for some great food, drink, and camaraderie— all for only $5.00! For more information, or to volunteer to assist, contact Bill Chapman at (626) 354-1455 or .
The LA Religious Education Congress is the largest of its kind in the world! With the objective of offering education and spiritual formation, over 40,000 participants each year attend this event to participate in over 300 workshops on topics such as spirituality, music, personal development, and biblical studies.
And, there are workshops geared specifically to the LGBT Community. This year’s event will take place March 16–18. Here are four examples of workshops geared toward the LGBT Community— two of which are co-presented by our own former GLO-er, Arthur Fitzmaurice!
Visit recongress.org for more information about the LA Religious Education Congress!
Like to read and hear what others thought about the same book? GLO has an active and dynamic book club just for you! The next meeting will be Friday, Feb. 23. Contact Francesca at (213) 248-2510 or for more information about the book selection, as well as the meeting location and time.
