For the Church:
For all who lead after the example of Christ who washed the feet of his disciples…
For all preachers of the Word, who teach by example…
For the holy people of God who are called to follow the new commandment of Christ…
We pray.
For our city, state, nation and world:
For the health care workers, first responders, grocery store workers and pharmacists…
For guidance and blessings upon those who research and work to find a vaccine and cure…
For wisdom upon our government to help those most in need…
We pray.
For the needs of those gathered for this liturgy tonight:
For hearts that learn how to love, forgive and reconcile…
For those whose patience grows thin, whose energy wains…
For protection from harm upon all who gather with us this night…
We pray.
For those ill with the virus of this pandemic,
those who suffer chronic pain and illness, and
those whohave grown weak under the burden of years,
We pray.
For those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith:
For those who died too young…
For those whose lives ended in violence and war…
For those who died from this pandemic…
We pray.
My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most Holy.
Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her Glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. Amen.

The Intercessions from Good Friday were first used in this form in the 7–8c. and are found in a Gallican (modern day France) copy of the Gelasian Sacramentary—a primary source from the earliest Liturgical texts from the 3c.

Our lives have changed. Rest assured, St. Monica is here for you, as always, but in a new way—virtually—to fulfill our mission during these uncertain days. In addition to ministering to you, a dire challenge we face is sustain our parish’s month-to-month offertory to support our mission as disciples of Christ.
We need your immediate and ongoing financial support—no matter what the amount. Even though we can no longer pass a basket during Mass, there are ways to continue or increase your contributions to St. Monica. There are many options listed below; however, the best way to stabilize our offertory is to join the 50% of parishioners who contribute regularly online. Help us increase this number! Your ongoing commitment at this time will allow us to move forward with more certainty and make important decisions about how we can weather this unexpected crisis as a connected and loving community.
Please maintain your gifts and, if at all possible, increase them.
Let us all protect our work…our mission…our spiritual home…our St. Monica.
