When and where is the dinner?

Our Thanksgiving event will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The church address is 725 California Avenue in Santa Monica. Guests will enter via exit at Washington Street.

This year in a safe and secure manner we invite guests to enjoy a Thanksgiving Dinner “with all the trimmings” in person at St. Monica and once again receive a package of new clothing and toiletry items for the winter months ahead.

Who can come?

Adults and children of all ages. All are welcome!

Do I need a ticket or need to reserve a space?

No. You do not need a ticket or reserve a space for dinner. Just come anytime between 1:00pm and 5:00 p.m.

When and where should I get in line?

You can arrive anytime after 11:30am. The line will start at the church entrance on Washington Ave.

Where should I park?

No onsite parking. Please park on the street. Read the street signs for parking restrictions. We encourage carpooling, ride sharing and other alternative transportation alternatives.

Are there any buses that have stops nearby?

The Santa Monica Blue Bus line has stops for the number 2, and 18 busses all within one block or a block and a half of the dinner, as does the Metro 20 and 720. You can also ride the Metro Blue Line (train) into Santa Monica at 4th and Colorado. From there you can walk or catch the Blue Bus number 18 to Lincoln and California and then just walk a block down to 7th and California to get in line for the dinner.

I have been saving my clothes all year, where can I drop them off?

We thank you so much for your generosity, however we are not able to receive clothing donations this year, due to COVID regulations. We still need your help. We ask that you donate toward the purchase of clothing for our guests here.

Here are two places where you can take your donations:

Where do I sign up for my volunteer spot?

In accordance with COVID guidelines all volunteers must wear masks throughout the day and on entering St. Monica’s will have their temperatures taken.

I have always cooked a turkey or baked a pie in the past, can I still do that?

Not this year. We ask that you consider donating toward the purchase of a Thanksgiving Meal for one of our guests here.

Can I make toiletry kits and drop them off?

We are accepting donations of individual travel size toiletries or a premade complete toiletries set that includes the following in a one gallon size ziplock bag:

  • Toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash
  • Soap or Body Wash
  • Bottle of shampoo and conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Body Lotion
  • Bag of Kleenex and Wet Wipes
  • Bandages
  • Q Tip Swabs

Optional:

All toiletries preferably are travel size (most of our guests are unsheltered and cannot walk with large containers of toiletries) All toiletries must be new or unopened. Do not include razors, razor blades, tweezers, safety pins, money, or personal info.
