Everyone’s favorite former Trappist monk is back to present a contemplative journey for us this Lent. Once working closely with Thomas Merton, Jim is a contemplative practitioner and renowned psychologist. He currently teaches for the Living School of Action and Contemplation alongside Fr. Richard Rohr and Cynthia Bourgeault.
Jim reminds us: “The contemplative way is like a monastery without walls, a gathering place for people who are searching for something more--something more meaningful, intimate, and richly present to the gift and miracle of their own life.” Gather with us!
Jim will offer a morning reflection experience, guiding us on our Lenten journey, to give up fear in exchange for God’s love, which sustains us in every aspect of our lives. Themes explored in the reflections will include:
∙ Jesus’ teaching on the primacy of love that permeates life and death
∙ Prayer as a daily rendezvous with God’s loving presence transforming us into itself.
∙ Cultivating the habit of Christ like love for ourselves others and all things as we go through our day
Time will be given for periods of prayerful meditation and discussion of the themes presented.
